Money Beliefs
Share
People have different beliefs about money and I can't always relate. My opinion is formed based on my own beliefs. But in reality who am I to tell others what is wrong and what is right for them. Who am I to look over and judge someone on how they earn or spend their money? ...but often times I have done so. I have found myself saying "maybe he or she wouldn't struggle if they just do this instead of doing that.. or if they use their skills to work there instead of where they are. The thing about it is that people spend their money on what they value, things that they feel are important and necessary to them. But what if the things that they value are only for the present moment and not the later?
My early childhood thoughts on money is that it was a "thing" that was given to me. I used to buy what I wanted to snacks, toys, candy, but these items did not last long but they sure tasted good and were fun at the time. I have watched people struggle to get "this thing called money" and as soon as it came, it went. Afterall, is this what most people do? Do most people live paychck to paycheck?
Money was not really talked about growing up, I knew people around me had bills but it was almost a taboo subject. You might can think of people you know that borrow money from others only to not repay their debts. Our early life memories of money are important and definitely correlate to how we handle money in our adult lives.
So what is the purpose of this "thing called money" other than to help us get the things that we want, things that we need, or things we feel we need? What if a tragedy occurred, how long can you sustain? How are you planning for your future?
Well, hopefully you will take this ride with me as I continue to share my thoughts, values and knowledge on getting this money thing right. I am so excited and ready to begin this journey by investing young. It doesn't matter what your age is, your skill level, your income, everyone has to start from somewhere. Let's learn and grow together and see just how far we can go.
